Vision 2020

in 2009 Charlene raised money to build a school in Uganda. She lived to see the first sod of ground dug, before she passed away from Cystic Fibrosis.

Her  legacy remains and continues to grow.

2020 was the 10th anniversary of her death and to celebrate her life and courage, we set a bold and ambitious target for the project she established.

Imagine not having the opportunity to go to school beyond Primary 7?

Our 2020 VISION was to build a local secondary school for the 6,500 children who attend Kahara, Kirwala, Bunyama, Runyanya, Kothongola, Diika, Nyinga and St Livingstone Primary Schools in western Uganda.

This short video tells the story.

This dream was realised at the beginning of 2022 when building work started and in 2023 the first full intake of students were accepted into Charlene Secondary School. in 2024 the school has close to 600 pupils all the way up to A Level which is transformative in these communities. Our fundraising to finish all the building work and support that is needed until this school is self sufficient continues.
