Every 2 seconds one person becomes forcibly displaced somewhere in the world
Supporting the displaced in Turkey and Jordan
At the end of 2018, there was a record high 70.8 million people forcibly displaced worldwide with one new person becoming displaced every 2 seconds. Syrians are the largest forcibly displaced population with more than half of their population fleeing seeking safety, thus forcing them into a life of poverty and exile. In Jordan 93% of refugees live below the poverty line (UNHCR).
Alongside our partners World Help, Charlene’s Project has helped to support two schools with small groups of Syrian refugees in Jordan and Turkey.
These individuals have been displaced from their homes putting a halt on their education thus changing the direction of their lives and their future.
We want to enable these individuals to continue to learn despite being forced from their homes.
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
Matthew 25:35
The foreigners residing among you must be treated as native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.
I am the Lord your God.
