Teenager Charlene Barr urgently needs a life-saving double lung transplant — but she is refusing to let that detract from her dream of building a school in Uganda.

It’s an incredible act of selflessness that won’t surprise those who know the plucky Armagh girl who once insisted on leaving her hospital bed to literally walk over hot coals for charity.

The 19-year-old from Lurgan also went against doctors’ advice to leave hospital to complete a charity abseil down Belfast’s Europa Hotel, which she did with an IV line still in her arm.
