Diane got to know Charlene as her Primary 2 teacher, and became closer to the Barrs as all the girls passed through her class.

Seeing Charlene and her genuine love for others and her desire to make a real difference in the lives of the children in Uganda when she herself had to leave school due to ill health was a real inspiration to us all.

After Charlene’s death when Diane was visitng the family she felt a desire to get more involved with the vision and return to Uganda, a country she had visited as a student.

Upon returning from a team in 2013, Diane became a Trustee of the charity and has been heavily involved in teacher training and other team visits since then.

Little did I know twenty years ago that the Lord would use the beautiful little girl in my class to bring me back to Uganda! It is a real privilege to see the Lord continue to work mightily through Charlene’s Project to help so many across the world.
