in 2009 Charlene raised money to build a school in Uganda. She lived to see the first sod of ground dug, before she passed away from Cystic Fibrosis.
Her legacy remains and continues to grow.
2020 was the 10th anniversary of her death and to celebrate her life and courage, we set a bold and ambitious target for the project she established.
In 2022 the 2020 VISION was realised.
Together we built a local secondary school for the 6,500 children who attend Kahara, Kirwala, Bunyama, Runyanya, Kothongola, Diika, Nyinga and St Livingstone Primary Schools in western Uganda.
2023 saw the first full intake of students accepted into Charlene Secondary School. in 2024 the school has close to 600 pupils all the way up to A Level which is transformative in these communities.
Our fundraising to finish all the building work and support that is needed until this school is self sufficient continues.

Charlene’s Project started in 2010 because a girl limited by so much refused to be defined by what she could not do. One decade later Charlene’s Project continues to work creating better futures for thousands of children around the world.
