A small team is heading out in August to visit the school which Charlene fundraised to build in Uganda.
Hidden Treasure school is finished and over 200 pupils are in attendance. In the summer we will officially open the school – it will be quite an emotional experience and one which we would so love Charlene to have experienced.
It is hard to believe that just about 2 years ago she launched her project and started raising the necessary money to build Hidden Treasure. It is incredible what has been achieved with the school, teacher accommodation and a well providing clean safe drinking water is now at the heart of the community, all as a result of Charlene and all the support from so many good friends of Charlene’s Project.
In order that we can ensure sustainability of the school and in order that the most vulnerable children in the community around Hidden Treasure get access to the wonderful facility that has been provided by Charlene’s Project we need sponsors for the most vulnerable children in the school. At the minute we are trying to get people to sign up to sponsor a child in the school for £14 a month.
Thank you so much for all who have said they will sponsor already….but we still need more people tp tale on a child and ensure they get the opportunity for an education that the school provides.
The £14 will provide each child with:
* A chance to go to school – covers their school fees
* A uniform every year
* Exercise books/stationery
* A meal a day in school
* Basic medical care
The reason we are letting you know now is so that we can get people’s details and a photo of whoever signs up so that each sponsored child can have a photo of their sponsor when we are out in August.
You will get regular updates from your child throughout the year and you will know that you are making a significant difference in the life of a child while also helping continue the legacy in Maya, Kampala that Charlene started in Dollingstown N.I.
