At the end of 2018, there was a record high 70.8 million people forcibly displaced worldwide with one new person becoming displaced every 2 seconds. Syrians are the largest forcibly displaced population with more than half of their population fleeing seeking safety, thus forcing them into a life of poverty and exile. In Jordan 93% of refugees live below the poverty line (UNHCR).
